Michele Kleveland, host of Wine, Women, and Words, a Texas based book club, sent me a spur of the moment email this past week. She said that her group had read COME BACK TO ME and had wondered if I would Skpe with them to discuss the book–that evening.
I was elated! Sure, I had a crazy schedule, and it meant manipulating a few meetings, but what could be more fun than chatting with a book club!
We met via Skype, and I had the pleasure with talking with each of the women in the book. I wished I had been right there with them–they are warm and wonderful women, insightful, funny, and just delightful. We had a fabulous chat and I hope they read more of my books, so we can get together again.
If you're an author and haven't yet had a chance to meet with book clubs, I highly recommend that you reach out to them. For me, the ability to discuss the characters, alternate endings, and likes and dislikes of the book with non-biased readers is an enlightening experience, and a fun one at that.
Thank you, Michele.
