Readers are always looking for fun ways to support authors, and a few wonderful readers and friends have asked me for banners for my books. I decided to create a few, and put them here, along with the embed codes. Anyone who would like to pick on up may do so, and it's very much appreciated!
Honoring Our Male Members & Selling Your Books
Okay, so that title of this post is pretty tongue-in-cheek, right? I give a lot of credit to the male members of WLC site. They have not complained about the name, which, until today, was WoMen's Literary Cafe. Our name included men, of course, but it probably felt a little biased. In honor of our male members, the community formerly known as WoMen's Literary Cafe is now World Literary Cafe!
So many writers strive to draw a line between the indie authors and the traditionally published authors, and I just can't see value in that competition.
Tonight my hubby came home and was leafing through our mail (which I love to ignore), and he handed me a large envelope from Writer's Digest. I love Writer's Digest magazine, but this looked like junk mail. On the way to the trash, I decided to rip it open just in case they'd begun sending their magazines in envelopes for some strange reason. Much to my surprise, I received a participation recognition certificate for the 19th annual Self-Published Book Awards. That alone isn't so exciting, but the paper that came with it was.
The kindness and generosity of others never fails to amaze me. Today I received a DM on Twitter from someone that I only know through Twitter. I follow her, and I love her upbeat and personal tweets, and enjoy our interactions. Never could I imagine that she might notice me for anything more than a friendly tweet stream, much less nominate me for an award. What a wonderful surprise! Thank you, Belinda Witzenhausen, for nominating me for the Kreativ Blogger Award!
