"Melissa Foster’s writing reminds me of Ted Dekker. The suspense is so strong I’m waiting for theme music to jump out and scare me as I turn the pages. Just when you think as a reader you have the situation figured out, a new twist appears.. Melissa does a great job bringing closure to Molly’s past as well as opening eyes to the reality of past, present and future of life in Boyds...If suspense and towns and people with secrets is your kind of book, than you will devour Chasing Amanda"The Surrendered Scribe
"Chasing Amanda is an emotionally charged read that explores the boundless wounds of the loss of a child and the perplexity of a paranormal gift: "the Knowing"...Foster writes with clarity, warmth, and intensity." Brown Girl Book Speak
"She [Foster] has a way of drawing you into the world of her story instantly. Chasing Amanda, her newest release, captivated me just as quickly as Megan’s Way...The story had me hooked and shocked by page 40..." Bella Online, Women's Literary Site
"This book was captivating and very intriguing..." Community Bookstop
"Very few books have been able to get raw emotions out of me and Chasing Amanda just happens to be one of those rare books. Melissa Foster was able to drive so many different types of feelings out of me from anger, sadness, frustration and hope all while keeping me at the edge of my seat...If it was possible I would give Chasing Amanda more than 5 stars. It was extremely well written with a lot of depth behind it and an overall message reminding us as parents that our kids are depending on us to keep them safe." Book Flame Review, by Aanchel
" This is a well-written, well thought-out thriller with a kick-butt ending and it will definitely keep you on the edge. Melissa Foster is a writer to watch and Chasing Amanda is THE book for thriller lovers." Webb Weavers, by author DJ Weaver
"Melissa Foster is an AMAZING author. She really blew me away with this novel. I don't know how to explain it, but she has got phenomenally seasoned skills. I enjoyed this book from beginning to end, and read it in one night, I was THAT hooked. The characters, the plot, the wording....it all really wrapped itself around me and left me in awe...I found myself feeling as though I was Molly Tanner, seeing the visions and the emotions of trying to salvage my marriage. It was all quite an experience. Vanishings, mystery, drama, family, and secrets. The key elements that make up this INCREDIBLE novel! I highly, without doubt, recommend this to every reader. There is something in this novel that will hook everyone. With twists and turns that don't leave you hanging, and an ending that will leave you hungry for more Melissa Foster work, this 5 star book is worth the read! Great job, Melissa- you have a new fan in this reader!"Reviews by Molly
"This is a perfect Summer book! It's part mystery, part ghost story and part family /small town drama, all rolled up into 1 perfectly paced book! Even after reading, and loving, Meagan's Way, I was pleasantly surprised at how Foster's writing changed and grew in between the 2 books! In fact, I have to admit, I liked this one BETTER!" Bless Their Hearts Mom, by Nicole
"If you enjoy suspense, then Chasing Amanda is the book for you. Weaving in and out of different perspectives from different characters the suspense builds and builds before finally coming to the climax that you never saw coming...Melissa Foster has a true way with words and storytelling...The story is woven beautifully and artfully. I love how it is told from different perspectives and you are never really sure who the "bad guy" is until Melissa finally gives that part to you. I loved watching Molly unravel the town secrets. Sometimes this type of book can be handled not-so-well and other times just wonderfully, like in Chasing Amanda. I just can't say enough about this book. The characters were interesting, I cared about them and they engaged me. The plot sucked me in and didn't let me go and the writing is wonderful...I highly recommend you check this book out if you enjoy suspense, and even if you don't you might want to give it a try anyway." My Reading Room, by Crystal
"...Molly captured my heart as soon as started reading... You could feel her anguish coming through the pages of the book...Although this book is in no way light and airy reading, the intense subject matter of child abduction is one that parents as well as people like myself with no children do not take lightly, it is a good solid read that will allow you to look deep inside and ask yourself if you have the fortitude and the courage to act on your strongest beliefs and help someone in need." Jackie Burris
'I was so completely engrossed in this book that I literally read it in a day, taking breaks only when absolutely necessary. Chasing Amanda caught my attention and didn't let go for 377 pages." Reading Lark, Paula Cotton
"Ohhhh, I love a juicy good story! And this is definitely juicy! I became a fan of Melissa Foster when I got the chance to read her first book, Megan's Way. And this second book is just as good as the first, if not better! The characters are people who the author has had in her life (her writer's mind) for a long time, you can tell, by the way she lovingly portrays them. I thought for sure I had figured out all the mystery in this book. Aha, I thought, I know the answer! But alas, with the twists and turns, I was wrong. This book had me hooked until the very end. Very well done!" Hanging Off The Wire, Haley Kolb
"What a twisted, dark, and secretive story to take place in an innocent small town like Boyds, MD. Between two child abductions, the beating of a mentally disabled person, people living underground, and a few psychics...this little community is rocked to its very core during the course of the novel...this is a book definitely worth reading in a book club! There are many topics to debate -- child abduction, mental illness, how far one should/will go to keep a secret, trust in a marriage, clairvoyance...and these are just the ones that I can share with you that won't spoil the plot. As you read, more topics for conversation will be revealed! Molly is the type of character that seems like she could be your next-door neighbor which allows the reader to really identify with her, and root for her heartily, against all odds. The secondary characters are well-developed and fantastically interesting -- a pastor of a church who sneaks around in the middle of the night?! -- readers will definitely be intrigued. This is Melissa's second novel and BCQ stays an enthusiastic fan." Book Club Queen, by Desiree

"This book engaged me right away and kept me turning the pages. Ms Foster kept me guessing to the end of the book, then presented several surprise twists that united all the story’s threads." Author Caroline Clemmons
"The story had me hooked from the beginning and I didn't want to put it down. This book is a perfect glimpse into small town life. Small towns tend to hold many secrets for a long time. The author does a great job of slowly revealing those secrets to the reader. The plot of the book is very well planned out so that the reader learns the truth along the same timeline as Molly. I wasn't able to figure out how all of the pieces fit into the puzzle until Molly did. I really enjoyed that aspect." From The TBR Pile, by Keri
"Once again author Melissa Foster brings to light so many important issues...This is one book that every parent should read." Writer Face
"Chasing Amanda is a very intriguing book from the very beginning, and I didn't want to put it down...Melissa Foster has a gift, and I am so glad she has chosen to share it with us all!" Musings of M.D. Christy
"Melissa Foster does a wonderful job of weaving an intricate mystery with dynamic characters and compelling relationships...I always felt like I was on the cusp of a great discovery, only to be lead in a different direction...I especially loved her relationship with her son...despite the tragedies and secrets that ran throughout the novel, I walked away feeling the bonds of family, friendship and love. The author does a great job of building bonds between the characters, breathing realistic lives into them with their honesty, mistakes and unfailing love." My Book Buddies
"Well-balanced mystery and clairvoyance. An intriguing novel with a middle-aged female protagonist, Melissa Foster’s Chasing Amanda, blends a contemporary abduction mystery with touches of the paranormal to create a tale that’s both scary and absorbing...In Melissa Foster’s novel, characters are drawn to recognize the truths of who they are and were, and what they’ve done...Mysteries abound and their resolution is well-timed and well-devised...the characters seemed very real and relatable, their story nicely plotted and truly intriguing." Lunch.com, Sheila Deeth
"There is one word which plays on my mind over and over for this book and that is 'compelling'. The characters are very well developed and you care about them. The story unfolds into a tantalizing and surprising ending. Who can ask more from a great read?" Author Lady Ellen
"The mystery has so many twists and turns that it was impossible to figure out who was guilty of what...It all comes together beautifully in the end, but it had me guessing the entire time. As soon as I was sure that I knew what was happening another bombshell exploded. I was hooked from page 1." That's a Novel Idea, by Ali Rotich
