Reading

I have spoiled myself lately, and it feels wonderful! I don't typically take time to just relax or do something enjoyable other than my writing. My day is typically kids, write, kids, cook, homework, kids, kids, kids, and I fall into bed around midnight to read for a little while. I've taken a little detour from my normal routine lately, and while my children are otherwise busy, instead of running upstairs to my computer, doing dishes, or straightening up, I've been diving into a good book.

Reading brings me such pleasure! I can escape into another world, meet new and interesting people, and not think about anything real. Even if I only steal 15 minutes here and there, I find that I look forward to that tiny break in my routine.

I used to come home from school and find my mother reading on the couch. That was familiar, and I have never really thought about it until recently, while I've enjoyed my mini-me-time escapes. Kudos to my mother, who raised seven children and still found time to enjoy her day! Kudos to everyone out there who steals a little rejuvenating "me" time! I'm thrilled to now be part of your living-smart group.

Thanks for reading.
