Life's little pleasures

I have been working on rewriting The Knowing, my second novel. It was actually the first manuscript that I wrote, but Megan showed herself, and the manuscript for The Knowing had to be put to the side. Megan was not a force to be reckoned with!

Here's a little background. In 2006, when my youngest son went to school full-time, I began writing. I wrote the entire time they were at school, and often times until midnight and beyond. Once finished, I gave the manuscript to beta readers, received feedback, and went to work editing the manuscript. It's a very long manuscript, so that was no small task.

As I set out to refine the manuscript, Megan came along and pushed her way to the forefront. It's been a solid year and a half since I have worked on the manuscript for The Knowing. During my editing process, I have been reintroduced to the characters, plots, and subplots, and I find that it's like rekindling relationships with people I was once close to. It's a wonderful, warm feeling. Along with the reintroduction, I am finding, comes growth and refinement. I like this feeling. I am very luck to experience being lost in a world with people and events that are evolving.

Just one of my life's little pleasures.
