Where do your story ideas come from? That's a question that I'm asked very often. Sometimes the seedling of my ideas come from a real life event, and other times ideas come from out of the blue. Last night, in an effort to start the creative juices of one of my younger boys flowing, I asked him to come up with an idea. He came up with a fabulous idea for a story, but it needed a bit of tweaking. We spent the next twenty minutes discussing different ways to make the story interesting to a wider audience and to pull more realistic action and drama into the story. He was quite pleased, and I have to say, so was I.
We had a ton of fun, and who knows, we might have a writing team on our hands.
