Birthdays are so wonderful!

Today was my son's tenth birthday. I have six kids, so we celebrate a lot of birthdays each year! I decided to make this one a little more memorable. I kept the birthday boy home from school because he had a dental appointment, but surprised him by not taking him into school after the appointment. Instead, we went out to lunch, picked out his birthday cakes (he chose individual cakes for each person instead of Mom's colors and colors cake this year - kind of a bummer, but what can I say? LOL!), and watched a movie together.

Today was very special for him. He must have told me seven or eight time how great it was to spend the day together. That...was priceless. Perhaps the secret day-off should be a secret for each of the kids on their birthdays! To my college boys - you've really lost out! I'm so sorry - but really, it's me who lost out on the time with each of you!
